“We in movement must learn to choose life even in conflict, even when seeking accountability, composting the tension and bad behaviors while holding the beating hearts.”
adrienne maree brown
Conflict will arise in all areas of life including our workplace with co-workers, supervisors, and leadership. We have understood conflict as consisting of two or more parties, some sort of relationship (co-workers, vendor to client, etc.), and the shortage of resources. When we remove one of those three things, we have “ended” the conflict.
What if we interrupted that thinking?
Generative conflict shifts the traditional understanding of conflict and instead emphasizes the benefits that can come from engaging authentically and with compassion. In this community hour, Executive Director Chenthu Jayton will outline what meaningful conflict looks like and how you can implement generative conflict at work.
For this free skill-building event, you can expect to learn:
The difference between traditional and generative conflict
Why generative conflict is beneficial to you and your team
How to understand and engage in meaningful conflict
Begin implementing it immediately into your day-to-day life
This community hour encourages you to move away from traditional thought processes and be curious. When you embrace the opportunity for generative and productive conflict, we acknowledge the emotions and power that exists and how to move through them.
