In February, we focused on skill-building around information ecosystems.
Let’s recap:
Just like an ecosystem in the environment, there are numerous components guiding the way the ecosystem functions. In our information ecosystems, we argue there are four networks that supply us with information:
Network of people (family, friends, co-workers)
Virtual network (social media)
Source of news (CNN, BBC, New York Times, Fox News, local news channels)
Entertainment (tv shows, books)
For our final community hour this year, we invite our community to take this learning one step further. Expanding our information ecosystems is important. Once we have this understanding, we can start to apply a more critical lens to who is in our network, where our information comes from, and how we leverage what we learn.
Join us to gain more insight into how our diversified information ecosystems can shape our engagement and activism around DEIJ. When you register, you will receive an information ecosystem work sheet.
