What does an equitable world look like to you?

An equitable world acknowledges the condition of fair and just opportunities for all people to participate and thrive in society regardless of individual or group identity differences. Striving to achieve equity requires equity-minded leaders who are aware of the historical context of exclusionary practices and recognize the impact of this history on social, institutional, and individual practices that contribute to persistent inequities.

What do participants take away from the Equity Labs?

Equity Labs provides organizations and individuals the tools needed to examine workplace equity as it relates to the organization’s mission and vision. Through intentional conversations, participants gain access to resources and tactics that allow for everyone to reflect on personal needs and organizational existing gaps. Overall, participants walk-away feeling empowered to create change that is necessary for organizations to achieve and establish workplace equity.

Who is someone you admire and why?

My mother, Maria is someone who I admire because she is kind, intelligent, passionate, and taught me that we must value everyone’s uniqueness and needs. As the mother of eleven children, my mother displays strength, love, empathy, and a caring heart for all individuals she engages with her.
