Stephanie Lang

Curriculum Designer & Equity Coach

Equity work is incredibly personal to me. I am Japanese American and grew up in Long Beach, California.

I have been working in Learning & Development for the past seven years and am known for leading with heart and a growth mindset to facilitate change in individuals and groups.

I earned my BA in Global Studies from UCLA and my Diversity and Inclusion Certificate through Cornell University. I am certified in DiSC and in coaching and facilitation through the Association for Talent Development.

As a former dancer and with a background in improv, I add a splash of creativity to every group I work with and project I undertake.

What does an equitable world look like to you?

A world where everyone can fully express their true identity and have equal access to space, opportunities, and resources.

What do participants take away from the Equity Labs?

In our current work climate, people often move fast, focusing on the immediate tasks on hand and sometimes forgetting about the people who do the work. Equity Labs encourages participants to slow down, connect, and “see” each other. Participants will experience greater connection, healthier relationships with colleagues, and more vibrant personal and work lives.

Teams that participate in Equity Labs will experience many benefits. Teams will make better business decisions by learning to embrace empathy and lean into difficult conversations. Teams will also walk away with an action plan on how to create a team environment where everyone can fully participate and add value.

Who is someone you admire and why?

Valorie Kondos Field, the former UCLA Women’s Gymnastics Team head coach. Valorie is the epitome of inclusive leadership

If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go?

Ipoh, Malaysia.
