Equitable Onboarding

Onboarding is often the first major introduction to an organization’s operations, team, and culture but is not frequently given the weight it deserves. If not done well, it can lead to employees feeling excluded and not valued from the beginning. We have all seen the numbers about onboarding and its importance in employee retention and satisfaction (see Zippia’s retention data and Gallup’s research on onboarding). Equitable onboarding means creating an environment that supports and values diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice from day one.

Join us for a free, virtual Community Hour on Tuesday, August 27, at 10 a.m. MDT as we engage in a conversation about building an equitable onboarding process. This approach not only prepares new employees but also fosters inclusion and helps shape the company’s culture from the beginning.

Equity Labs Facilitator Linda Newell, an HR consultant specializing in equitable and just workplace relationships and systems, will share practical tips, effective strategies, and actionable next steps for developing onboarding practices that reflect your commitment to equity and inclusivity.

Don’t miss the opportunity to enhance your onboarding process with the DEIJ community to build more equitable workplaces.
