What is empathy?
Over 27,000 people are asking that question in the U.S. every month.
Empathy is a common buzzword we hear in the workplace, at home, and with friends. We’ve been told that practicing empathy is more effective than sympathy. But how do we do that? What does it mean to actually practice empathy in the workplace?
During this community hour, Assistant Director Ashley Hill and MSW intern Emma Baker will facilitate a discussion of how to embrace empathy and implement it into your workplace practices. This discussion will include:
A better understanding of empathy
Discussing different ways to actively apply it
Sharing your empathy goals with the equity community
The beginning of the year is a time frequently used to implement new ideas, strategies, and hopes. It’s a time when we feel inspired to evaluate our personal and professional goals. A time when we feel inspired to learn and try new things. In the spirit of embracing new things, join us for a discussion of how to cultivate a culture of empathy in your workplace.
